Uganda Union Mission of Seventh-day Adventists, following its I Will Go evangelistic Mission and carefully following its Strategic Plan, organised 2025 into different Evangelistic Thrusts.
The May 2025 Thrust, which started 17th to 31st, taking two weeks was The Total Media Evangelistic Thrust.
The Thrust, which followed closely in the heels of the Total Women Evangelistic Thrust, saw Adventist Men Ministry taking lead. The Adventist Men Ministries were supposed to do the funding of all the activities, like making efforts, buying Airtime on secular Radios and Televisions, designing and printing of digital and physical invitations. etc.
The Adventist Men were supported by Choirs and the Youth.
Every Entity had a plan. Below are the main plans used:
- The usual Evangelistic Effort
- Recordings from Church pulpits
- Recording from Radio and Television Studios
- Recording from homes!
- Other creative plans
The department of Communications at Uganda Union used the Traditional Media Channels like the 7 Adventist World Radio channels in Uganda namely;
- AWR Prime Radio FM in Kampala
- AWR Light FM in Kasese
- AWR Vine FM in Hoima
- AWR Messenger FM in Mbarara
- AWR Orayon FM in Lira
- AWR Maranatha FM in Jinja
- AWR Ebenezer FM in Mbale
Televisions included Hope Channel, 3ABN and BBS Telefayina
OTHER MEDIA
The Communicators Livestreamed on Youtube , Facebook and TikTok Live from recording points. They recorded for playback at different times on various Media and many messages were trimmed up for TikTok, Facebook, X and YouTube Shorts channels.
Many of the sermons were taken to the Community Radios on Flash Disks and millions of messages were shared on WhatsApp as Audio and video files.
Some creative individuals even got a projector, a portable P.A. system and a Projector screen and set up a roadside meeting in a small field by the side of the road!!
Secular radios and secular Televisions served well especially in Western Uganda where over 270 were baptised from one secular radio.
ONE REMARKABLE STORY
Central Uganda Conference, decided to rally their Adventist Men to “attack” Masaka City (140 kms from Kampala) which is a Catholic stronghold and had become a thorn in the flesh of the Conference. The strategy, get over 50 evangelists to make house to house visits, carrying out Community Service, Health Camps, Development and Sanitary trainings etc.
These people took the city by surprise! By the time the actual preaching by the Conference President started, 60 individuals were ready for baptism from the ground work!!. The Adventist Men in other parts of the Conference bought a platform worth $12,000, another team is buying over 3000 seats and another team worked on procuring a P.A. system worth $15000.
Every sermon was broadcast on
- Hope Channel
- 3ABN TV
- BBS Telefayina
- AWR Prime Radio
- AWR Maranatha Radio
- AWR Ebenezer Radio
- Avvento Media
- MASHS Media
- Armor Media
- Amazing Media
- Ettendo
- Shalom Insights
- Over 50 YouTube Channels in the Union
THE REACH
The messages reached the WHOLE WORLD because they were on the internet. Every media house has a YouTube Channels and the content could be viewed worldwide!
A staggering 70,000,000 had access to the daily messages and they still are up there online for continued use.
Over 551 souls were baptised at the site and the overall Conference baptisms came to 1172 souls.
Three big churches have started in Masaka which had been labelled impenetrable!!
OUTSIDE CENTRAL UGANDA CONFERENCE
A brother from North Buganda Field who had backslidden for nearly 7 years, listen to Pr. Kajoba Samuel on AWR Prime FM Radio from Masaka and made a firm decision to return to Christ and was rebaptised on the 31st May at Katikamu Adventist Church.
