Mid-Year Excom Report Summary

Adventist Chaplaincy ministry with a mission of establishing spiritual care services to schools, hospitals, prisons and workplaces through Adventist Chaplains and Spiritual care-givers. We cover a total of 501 institutions (schools, hospitals, prisons and workplaces all combined) across the country. With currently an able workforce that has grown over years to 92 school chaplains, 246 Hospital spiritual caregivers, 516 prisons spiritual care givers and One workplace Chaplain.

This year we have registered alone, before the school evangelism we have registered a total of 243 baptisms in schools from the newly introduced reaping initiatives like Consecration week, Global Youth week and First term school weeks of prayer. Only 67 have been baptized from Prisons, 3 and 19 from workplaces and hospitals respectively.

PUBLIC CAMPUS MINISTRY

PCM was established to lead all Adventist students at public and private universities and colleges to follow Jesus, embrace his mission to positively impact their secular environment at campus and change the world. We so far cover 112 tertiary institutions across the country, with currently 78 registered Adventist Students’ Associations having a total of 4142 students.

This year we have been involved in series of Activities like Campus Consecration week, Literature distribution, Voice of Youth (VoY), AYIM, Youth for Christ Reaping Campaigns Phase 1, Global Youth Week/Day, Youth Summit and telephone evangelism, etc.  We have realized a baptism of 98 students and staff.

ADVENTIST MUSLIM RELATIONS

The mission of the Global Centre for Adventist Muslim Relations (GCAMR) is to inspire and equip Seventh-day Adventists to establish new groups of disciples among Muslim people groups. We have so far established 10 groups across the Union and we are planning to reach other Muslim concentrated regions like Yumbe, Busembatya and Bombo. We have 23 members with Muslim background (MMB’s) working as “Hidden Treasure preachers” and 5 AMRtraining centers in Kampala, Mukono and Mutanzige.

This year we have been involved in series of Activities and major ones were AMR awareness Sabbaths and “Ramadan Prayer Initiative” where 94 churches participated and 17 persons were baptized.

ADVENTIST POSSIBILITY MINISTRY

Our role is advocating for the recognition of dignity and respect of every person and helping to make possible the discovery of unrealized abilities despite stigmas associated with a disability or loss.

This year we have been involved in several activities and these include though not limited to Sign Language Interpreters training in 15 centers across the Union comprising of 104 trainees. We have formed 38 support groups for people with special needs and organizing camp meetings for them to suit their physical and spiritual needs. The Adventist possibility ministry was a blessing and over 80 churches participated across the Union.

On Addition, the Adventist Deaf Ministry International together with Gospel Outreach workers have done a tremendous role in reaching deaf communities across the Union. We now have 34 churches with Worship services facilitated by Sign Language interpretation and centers in Jinja, Matugga, Kireka, Kyambogo etc.

ASI/AAYP

The Adventist Lay Men Services and Industries (ASI) together with Association of Adventist Young Professionals (AAYP) have been busy working as the supporting arm of mission in the Union. They have worked hand in Hand with Adventist Women, Men and other departments to support Evangelism.

AAYP conducted a successful Mission Retreat in Western Uganda and were involved in series of Activities to reach the communities with Jesus. It was so impactful and many communities were transformed for Christ.
