August 26, 2025 – Nairobi, Kenya — The East-Central Africa Division (ECD) of the Seventh-day Adventist Church has announced a new leadership team for the Uganda Union Mission, following elections held during the ongoing ECD year-end session.
Pastor Samuel Kajoba has been elected as the new President of the Uganda Union Mission. A seasoned church administrator, Pastor Kajoba has dedicated more than four decades to education, pastoral ministry, and leadership. Until his election, he served as the Executive Director of the Central Uganda Conference, where he provided dynamic leadership and spearheaded evangelistic growth, stewardship initiatives, and family life ministries.
Joining him in leadership is Pastor Nicholas Bitamazire, elected as the Executive Secretary of the Union. Pastor Bitamazire who has been serving in the same position is widely respected for his pastoral experience and service in chaplaincy and administration. His strong background in nurturing church members and guiding ministers positions him well to serve the Union in this critical role.
The financial administration of the Union will now be overseen by Elder Isaac Lyadda, who has been elected as Treasurer. Elder Lyadda replaces Pr. Frank Kiggundu who has retired after serving the church for more than 20years, Lyadda brings extensive experience in financial management and stewardship, with a firm commitment to accountability and transparency in the management of church resources which he has gained while serving as the treasurer of Eastern Uganda field which was recently cut into 3 fields leaving him at Mid-Eastern Uganda Field.
This new leadership team will guide the mission and vision of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Uganda, overseeing its evangelism, education, health, and media ministries. Their collective experience and spiritual dedication are expected to strengthen the Union’s mission of proclaiming the everlasting gospel and preparing people for Christ’s soon return.
Church members across Uganda are invited to uphold the new leaders in prayer as they assume their responsibilities and continue advancing God’s work throughout the nation.
