KAMPALA, Uganda — The Central Uganda Conference (CUC) of the Seventh-day Adventist Church has strengthened its capacity for digital evangelism and communication with the acquisition and dedication of new media center equipment.

The equipment was commissioned during a dedication ceremony led by Pr. David Ssimwogerere, President of CUC, and attended by church leaders, communication personnel and other stakeholders. The acquisition follows a fundraising drive initiated to support the establishment and strengthening of media centers across the various Conferences and Fields of the Uganda Union Mission.
Among those in attendance was Eld. Kugonza Isaac the Uganda Union Mission Communication Director, who emphasized that the investment in media is an investment in mission. In his remarks, he noted that media should not be viewed merely as a communication channel, but as an important ministry tool for reaching people with the gospel in the spaces where they increasingly spend their time.

Speaking during the dedication, Pr. Ssimwogerere described the equipment as a strategic investment in the mission of the Church. He noted that the new capacity will enable CUC to expand its broadcasting, digital content production and communication work across its territory.

The CUC Communication Department, led by Pr. Justus Perez, will use the new equipment to support television, radio, online platforms, local church ministries, evangelistic campaigns and educational programming.
The equipment includes professional broadcast cameras, audio production equipment, video editing systems, lighting equipment and mobile livestreaming gear, providing CUC with an expanded capacity to produce and distribute quality content across multiple platforms.
In the dedication message, the Union Communication Director reminded those entrusted with the facility that the value of the equipment goes beyond the technology itself.
“We are not merely dedicating tools of technology, but instruments of ministry. Cameras, tripods, microphones, and production systems have little value on their own. Their true value lies in the message they help communicate.”
He further connected the investment to OneVoice27, the Church’s global mission initiative under the theme “All Things New: Hope Starts Here.” He noted that the media center positions CUC to actively participate in the mission by producing meaningful content, equipping young communicators and using digital platforms to share Christ with a generation increasingly reached through screens.
The dedication therefore marks more than the commissioning of new technology; it represents another step in the Uganda Union Mission’s broader effort to strengthen communication infrastructure and equip the Church to proclaim the gospel through contemporary media.
The CUC Media Center is now operational and will support the Conference’s evangelistic, educational and communication activities across Central Uganda.
